The seasonal collection features a limited quantity of one-of-a-kind goods made from locally sourced materials. Each item is designed and crafted using reclaimed, salvaged, or vintage materials that tell a story of their past life. With these handcrafted products, we hope to breathe new life into old things and reconnect people to the product.
The Homestead Collection is built in collaboration with my twin brother, Matthew, and sister-in-law, Brit, from Homestead Wisconsin. We have sourced leather and wood from their farm to create heirloom quality pieces for your table. The leather comes from their grass-fed cattle raised on the homestead and tanned in Boone, Iowa, close to where we all graduated from at Iowa State University. The tannery is passionate about producing leather the old-fashioned way, using machinery from as early as the 1800's. I then cut each hide, stitch the leather into functional products, and finish each piece with antique brass rivets. Matthew harvests the wood from damaged trees on the homestead, then it is cut and finished by Brit. We work together to design each product, gathering inspiration from time spent around the table. This collection is truly a family effort from start to finish. I am so happy to offer ethically sourced, genuine leather cowhide and these 100% Midwest made products with you this season. With your purchase, you are supporting three Midwest small businesses. I hope you love the collection as much as I do! - Morgann
